Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the most common disorders that primary care physicians treat at clinics throughout the World.
Irritable bowel is the disturbance in regulation of bowel function. Patients or sufferers as a result experience unusual sensitivity and muscle activity. Syndrome refers to the combination of a number of symptoms and not to one symptom exclusively, and can differ from patient to patient.
